State
Convention
From May 14th to May 17th the 78th Washington
State FFA convention was held at the WSU campus in Pullman. Every day at least one general
session was held with the 2007-2008 State Officers giving retiring addresses
and/or giving out awards. Before each general session began there would be a
horribly edited video where the State Officers would sing “Had a Bad Day”, then
State Officers would walk in with a horrible remix of the song “Born To Be
Wild”. At the end of the final general session the 2008-2009 State Officers
were announced. After the presidents retiring address he proposed to his
girlfriend of 5 years. In between the general sessions were judging contests
and workshops, but the Sprague FFA only went to two on Saturday after a general
session. There were two dances held, after the last general session on Friday
and another after the last general session on Saturday, but FFA members were
only allowed to go to one of the two dances. The second dance on Saturday was
the one that the Sprague FFA went to.
